SALSA CUBANA

Salsa is the epitome of South and Central American joie de vivre. The fiery dance combines elements of rock and jazz. Practice and vary simple figures such as spot turns and cucarachas to hot rhythms. After a short time you have expanded your movement repertoire. The South American dance virus will grab you.  The Salsa Estilo Cubano is danced more in circles. However, many figures can also be performed in a simple pair dance; in addition, winding figures and the dominant leadership of the man determine the dance image. The "Estilo Cubano", also called "Casino" or "De la calle", is originally danced "on 2" (Son) and "on 3" (Salsa), but in western regions mostly "on 1".
